Climate lockdowns have caused an economic depression throughout America. The federal government creates a new branch of the military to enforce the climate lockdowns. This new branch, called the Climate Corps, is made up of draftees and volunteers. After a disputed presidential election, the governor of Texas meets with the governors of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana to discuss secession. They decide to hold a snap election. The seeds of secession have sprouted.
The citizens of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma vote to secede from the United States of America. The Greater Texas Federation is formed. The Texas governor's ex-Navy Seal brother, who commands a huge army of private military contractors, assures his brother that they can win. The CEO of the world's largest arms manufacturer supplies the Greater Texas Federation with a new generation of weapons. Kamikaze drones, killer robots, advanced artificial intelligence, electromagnetic rail guns and other weapons are given to the rebels. The Texas Federation seizes all the U.S. military bases within it's territory. The US government provokes Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Massive armadas and armies made up of Climate Corpsmen and NATO troops approach the Greater Texas Federation borders. Civil war has broken out in America!
This audiobook follows the stories of the Texas governor, a Climate Corps draftee, a rebel volunteer, a Manhattan stock broker, a restaurant owner in Oregon and others as they grapple with the chaos that America's Last War has caused!
