In so doing we see the Earth as it may appear in a thousand years, when the seas have risen, humanity has sent aloft great orbital cities, and antimatter is a fuel. Reading volume 1 isn't necessary, though doing so may enhance contextual quality. This volume has been written to contain the background that the story needs. "I've just finished reading "Far Modulus" by R.T. Romero. I think you'll find it a good read. A clever, well structured plot placed in a nicely thought-out mid-future universe makes for an entertaining sequel to 'Modulus' - his previous work.
